• 1oz blended scotch
  • 1oz elderflower liqueur
  • 1oz Alta Verde amaro

Stir and serve over a large rock.

Nice balance, in the Old Pal family. Floral, piney, oaky. Good balance of bitter and sweet.

Gin variant

  • 0.5oz dry vermouth
  • 0.5oz elderflower liqueur (Fiorente)
  • 0.5oz Alta Verde amaro
  • 1oz London dry gin
  • pinch of salt

Also nice. Clear and bracing, with floral notes and sweetness from the elderflower, but a complex bitter finish.

This is heading in a Martini direction, try leaning into it by upping the gin and reducing the liqueurs.

Gin Martini variant

  • 0.5oz dry vermouth
  • 0.25oz elderflower liqueur (Fiorente)
  • 0.25oz Alta Verde amaro
  • 2oz gin (preferably Drumshanbo Gunpowder, London Dry also good)
  • pinch of salt

Stir and serve up in a chilled coupe.

Very nice Martini. Floral and bitter notes recede into the background but still present as a complex finish.

Fantastic with Gunpowder gin, brings out the tea notes.

Pisco Martini variant

  • 0.5oz dry vermouth
  • 0.25oz elderflower liqueur (Fiorente)
  • 0.25oz Alta Verde amaro
  • 2oz pisco
  • pinch of salt

On a whim made this with Pisco instead of gin. Works really well. Different experience - pisco brings sweetness and a gentle acidity, vs the herbal complexity of the gin. Bitterness of the amaro is a very interesting finish to the sweet palate.
